Karnataka Bank FASTag

FasTag, operated by the National Highways Authority of India is an electronic toll collection system. The unique Radio Frequency Identification technology is used to make direct toll payments from the prepaid or savings account linked to the fastag. FASTags are issued by 22 certified banks including Karnataka Bank, using various channels.

FasTag Means

FasTag was made mandatory for all four-wheeler vehicles in India beginning from February 15, 2021, after facing many postponements of dates. Initially, the concept of FasTag was implemented way back in 2014.

FasTag for Car

FasTag is a card which will be affixed on the windscreen of a four-wheeler vehicle. Once the vehicle passes through the national highway, the FasTag scanners will read the card using the RFID technology. The scanners will be installed at toll plazas, across the country. On scanning the FasTag card, the toll tax will get automatically deducted from the savings or prepaid account linked to the FasTag and the tax will be paid automatically.
