Airtel FASTag

FasTag, operated by the National Highways Authority of India is an electronic toll collection system. The unique Radio Frequency Identification technology is used to make direct toll payments from the prepaid or savings account linked to the fastag. FASTags are issued by 22 certified banks including Airtel Payments Bank, using various channels.

What is Airtel Payments Bank's FASTag?

FASTag is a simple, reloadable tag that allows for the automatic deduction of toll charges and allows you to pass through the toll plaza without stopping for a cash transaction. After the tag account is activated, the tag uses Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed to the vehicle's windscreen.

FASTag is now required as of February 16, 2021. The National Highway Authority of India operates it primarily as an electronic toll collection system (NHAI). Toll payments are made directly from the tag holder's wallet or prepaid/savings account using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. FASTag can be purchased online from an official Tag issuer or a participating bank like Airtel Payments Bank. After purchasing the tag, you must attach it to the windscreen of your vehicle. After that, you'll have to recharge it from time to time to get through the FASTag toll plazas quickly.

Benefits of Airtel Payments Bank's FASTag

A FASTag is an RFID enabled tag fixed on the front windscreen of the vehicles which enables one to drive through toll plazas while the toll amount gets automatically deducted from your FASTag account. All you have to do is check the FASTag balance of your account and keep it recharged. FASTag has a five-year validity period and can be recharged as needed after the initial purchase.

Save Fuel & Time with FASTag

The FASTag is read by the tag reader at the plaza and the toll amount is deducted automatically when the vehicle passes through the toll plaza. This means you don't need to stop at every toll wasting your time and fuel for a cash transaction anymore.
