FASTag Overview

The NETC programme, which stands for National Electronic Toll Collection, was developed by the Indian government in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India. The FASTag is a device that uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to deduct toll charges automatically when a vehicle passes through a toll plaza's FASTag lane. The FASTag sticker is applied to the front windscreen of the four wheelers, and money is automatically debited from the FASTag account associated with the vehicle when they pass through toll.
