Overview
The National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) Program, which is based on RFID technology, has made electronic toll payments available at all National Toll Plazas. The NETC-FASTag is a device that uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to pay tolls directly while the vehicle is moving. FASTag (RFID Tag) is attached to the vehicle's windscreen and allows the customer to pay tolls directly from the account linked to NETC-FASTag. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) authorised NPCI to provide a digital solution for toll collection in order to ensure seamless movement of vehicles at Toll Plazas and reduce congestion on National Highways.
What is Bank-of-Maharashtra's FASTag?
FASTag is a simple, reloadable tag that enables automatic toll deduction and allows you to pass through the toll plaza without stopping for a cash transaction. FASTag is associated with a prepaid account from which the applicable toll is deducted. After the tag account is activated, the tag uses Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed to the vehicle's windscreen.
