HDFC FASTag

FasTag, operated by the National Highways Authority of India is an electronic toll collection system. The unique Radio Frequency Identification technology is used to make direct toll payments from the prepaid or savings account linked to the fastag. FASTags are issued by 22 certified banks including HDFC Bank, using various channels.

What is HDFC FASTag?


FASTag is a device that uses RFID technology to make toll payments directly from the prepaid account to which it is linked. It is attached to the windscreen of your vehicle and allows you to drive through any toll plaza without stopping for cash transactions. The tag has a 5-year validity period, and after purchasing it, you only need to recharge/reload it, i.e. top-up the tag as needed. Please keep a minimum balance at all times.

  • You are not required to stop at any toll plaza to conduct cash transactions.
  • Tag can be recharged online using a credit or debit card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking, UPI, or PayZapp.
  • You will receive SMS and email notifications for toll transactions, low balance status, and other events.
  • Customers can keep track of their transactions through a dedicated online portal.

What documents are required to apply for HDFC FASTag?


Individuals: 

  • Provide ID and address proof 
  • Driving License
  • PAN Card (mandatory)
  • valid Passport (photo page and address page)
  • Voter ID Card
  • Aadhar Card (with address)

For Corporates:

  • Certificate of Incorporation/Partnership Deed etc of the firm 
  • PAN Card of the Proprietor. 
  • Photo ID of signing authority under 
  • Shop Act or other firm proof.
