IDBI FASTag

FasTag, operated by the National Highways Authority of India is an electronic toll collection system. The unique Radio Frequency Identification technology is used to make direct toll payments from the prepaid or savings account linked to the fastag. FASTags are issued by 22 certified banks including IDBI Bank, using various channels.

Overview

IDBI FASTag is a thick paper-based tag / device that uses RFID technology to make toll payments directly from the Prepaid Wallet, Savings, or Current account linked to it. It is to be attached to the windscreen of your vehicle and allows you to drive through toll plazas without stopping to pay tolls in cash.

The Government of India has mandated that all new vehicles sold beginning December 1st, 2017 bear the FASTag. The "FASTag Partner App" will allow the country's over 6000 dealers to access a single platform and activate the FASTag at the time of vehicle delivery.

IDBI FASTag is now required at 600+ National Highways toll plazas (see the list here) and is accepted at over and selected 54+ State Highways toll plazas. Except for one Hybrid lane, all lanes at the National Highway toll plaza will be designated as dedicated FASTag lanes beginning December 15, 2019. Non-FASTag users will be charged twice the fee if they use FASTag lanes.

IDBI FASTag can be recharged online using a credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI/IMPS, or other payment method.
IDBI FASTag will send instant SMS alerts to the FASTag user's registered mobile number for toll transactions, low balance, and other events.
