SANTOSH FINE-FAB LIMITED. (SFFL), was originally incorporated on the 16th October, 1981, as HIMALAYA SILK MILLS PRIVATE LIMITED. The Santosh group tookover M/s. Himalaya Silk Mills Pvt Limited in1987. The business under the sad name was carried on upto 22nd April, 1992 whereafter the name of the Company was changed to SANTOSH FINE-FAB PRIVATE LIMITED so that it gets closely identified with the Santosh Group which has an established name in the market. Subsequently, the Company has been converted into a Limited Company. w.e.f. 6th October, 1994 and a fresh certificate of change of name dt. 18.10.94 was obtained
from Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra, Bombay. The Company is having an existing weaving unit at Plot No. L-40, MIDC, Tarapur, Dist Thane, with a capacity of 6.88 lac mtrs of suiting per annum.

The Company (as Himalaya Silk Mills Pvt. Ltd.) was originally promoted by Shri Ramniranjan Kedia, Sureshchand Kedia, Smt. Sarda Devi Kedia & Shri Prahladrai Poddar. The Company was dormant till the take over by the Santosh Group by way of induction of Directors on 10/4/87 and acquisition of shares which got transferred in the Company's books on 18/4/87. The Company then started operations of the present factory and commercial production was started in July, 1988. In the first year of operations (15 months ended March, 1989) the Company achieved a net sales of Rs. 73.96 lacs on which it incurred a loss of Rs. 6.4 lacs. The Company has not/is not facing any major labour problems. There have not been any closure of the Company till date.

Business: The group started in the textile business with cotton fabric trading activity. Over a period of time, a shift has been made to synthetic fabrics and yarn and cotton fabric trading was discontinued by 1982. Till 1978, the group was essentially involved in trading, but after 1978, they also started manufacturing of grey fabrics.

As of today, SFFL manufactures grey fabrics. They grey fabric is processed, on job work basis, at reputed process houses. The finished cloth is subsequently sold through their dealer network.
