The state has a large number of bird species totalling nearly 635. Of these many are endangered. The biggest contributors to the economy is agriculture. In fact, agriculture is used as a means of sustaining the family rather than selling it for cash. However, the productivity for most part is very poor. Mizoram is also a big producer of Anthurium and Rose. both these are also exported to other countries.
