The lottery will have a total of 1 crore and 8 lakh tickets printed, with a gross value amounting to ₹42,18,48,000, according to a Gazette notification released by the Kerala Government. The Kerala State Lottery Agents' and Sellers' Welfare Fund Board will handle distribution and announce result at Gorki Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.
The prize structure is divided into several categories. The first prize offers ₹1 crore, while the second prize awards ₹75 lakh. There are also multiple smaller prizes ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹50. A consolation prize of ₹5,000 is also available.
Draws for the Samrudhi Lottery will occur weekly in Thiruvananthapuram. The process follows Rule 8 of the Kerala Paper Lotteries Regulation Rules, 2005. A mechanical device using random technology will select winning numbers under the supervision of a panel of judges.
If fewer than three judges are present, additional members may be co-opted from the audience to meet requirements. Before starting, judges and spectators receive an explanation of how the draw machine operates.
In case of technical issues or insufficient draw devices, an alternative method using drums and coins will be employed. Winning numbers are publicly announced and verified by officials to ensure they have been sold.
If an unsold number is drawn, the process repeats until a valid number is selected. Duplicate selections are cancelled and redrawn. Winning numbers are documented in an official proforma, verified by judges who then sign it as confirmation.
The entire draw process may be broadcast live on television channels or social media platforms managed by the State Lotteries Department to maintain transparency.
This notification aims to provide all necessary details about the Samrudhi Weekly Lottery as required by sub-rule (3) of rule 3 of the Lotteries (Regulation) Rules, 2010 issued by the Government of India.
The department conducts seven weekly lotteries and six bumper lotteries each year. Its headquarters are located at Vikas Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram, with additional offices across the state, including a Regional Joint Directorate in Ernakulam and a Regional Deputy Directorate Office in Kozhikode. The department operates under the Finance Department and is managed by the Taxation (H) Department.
