1991 - The Company was incorporated as a Private Limited Company on 26th July, under the name and style of "Champion Cement IndustriesÂ Private Limited".Â The Company was converted into a publicÂ limited Company with effect from 1st May, 1992.Â The Company has been promoted by Shri Yogesh Kumar Dalmia and Shri Anil

Â Choudhary.

- The company undertook to set up a cement plant at Laing, Dist.Â Sundargarh, Orissa with an installed capacity of 45,000 TPA ofÂ ordinary portland cement.

1996 - 44,00,000 shares allotted through prospectus of which 15,00,000 shares were allotted to promoters, directors, their friends etc. on firm allotment basis.Â 52,900 shares were allotted to employees, on preferential basis.Â Balance 28,47,100 shares were allotted to the public call were taken up.
