Equity Savings Funds mixes equity, debt and arbitrage. Returns can be mediocre because of the safe arbitrage portion. Also, the unhedged equity part still carries market risk. If stock market falls, NAV will dip. It is not a substitute for fixed deposit. Investors should be aware that capital is still at risk despite the conservative name.
