Gold rates in India touched a new all-time high on Saturday, August 30th, with 10 grams of 24 carat gold now available at Rs 1,04,950. Notably, prices of yellow metal have been rising for five consecutive days. 24 carat gold in 10 grams and 100 grams has skyrocketed by a whopping Rs 3,440 and Rs 34,400 since August 26th. Heightened tariff concerns and India-US trade tension continue to fuel safe-haven assets like gold.
On August 30th, gold prices surged to a new record high. 24 carat gold in 10 grams and 100 grams is at record Rs 1,04,950 and Rs 10,49,500. Further, 22-carat gold rates are also at their new peak at Rs 78,710 per 10 grams and Rs 7,87,100 per 100 grams. Additionally, 18 carat gold prices in 10 grams and 100 grams are new lifetime high of Rs 78,710 and Rs 7,87,100.

On August 30th, 100 grams and 10 grams gold prices skyrocketed by Rs 16,400 and Rs 1,640 in 24 carat. The two were up by Rs 7,100 and Rs 710 on August 29th. Further, 100 grams and 10 grams of gold prices surged by Rs 1,600 and Rs 160 on August 28, followed by an increase of Rs 3,800 and Rs 380 on August 27th. On August 26, 100-gram and 10-gram gold prices climbed by Rs 5,500 and Rs 550 in 24 carat.
From August 26 to August 30th, gold prices have zoomed by Rs 34,400 in 100 grams and by Rs 3,440 in 10 grams of 24 carat.
Should You Buy Gold?
As per Aksha Kamboj, Vice President, India Bullion & Jewellers Association (IBJA) and Executive Chairperson, Aspect Global Ventures, THE Indian gold market has been remarkably resilient in the past few weeks, driven by robust jeweller demand for the upcoming festive season.
The expert added, coupled with the U.S. element, levying punitive 50% tariffs on Indian exports has also raised demand for safe-haven instruments like gold. Sandwiched between festive-led demand and macroeconomic risk aversion, the yellow metal's price of around Rs 102,388 per 10 grams indicates firm momentum for investors sensitive to both domestic consumption and foreign trade pressures.
MCX Gold Price + MCX Silver Price
After closing bell on August 29th, MCX gold price with October 2025 expiry, ended at Rs 1,03,780 per 10 grams, down by Rs 44. This comes after it touched a new all-time high of Rs 1,04,090 per 10 grams on Friday.
MCX silver price with September 2025 expiry, also surged to hit new all-time high of Rs 1,20,900 per 1kg on August 29, before correcting and ending at Rs 1,20,250 per 1kg.
For silver, Kamboj said, silver provides an attractive option for those seeking to hedge foreign currency and geopolitical risks while traversing an intricate global trade environment.
Spot Gold Price + Spot Silver Price
Spot gold climbed to $3,445 per ounce on Friday, nearing April's record of $3,500, and is set for a second weekly gain, as investors sought refuge amid uncertainty over US monetary policy, as per Trading Economics data. Meanwhile, spot silver price surged past $39.5 per ounce, its highest level since September 2011, as traders bet on Fed rate cuts and weighed strong industrial demand.
