The State Bank of India (SBI) has initiated the online registration for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) in 2025. A total of 541 positions are available, with 500 being regular vacancies and 41 backlog vacancies. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official website, sbi.co.in, until July 14.

Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years old as of April 1, 2025. There is an age relaxation for reserved categories according to the notification rules. Candidates should hold a graduate degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification approved by the central government. Those in their final year/semester can apply but must provide proof of graduation by September 30 if selected for an interview.
SBI PO Recruitment Important Dates
The preliminary exam call letters will be issued in late July, with exams scheduled for July/August. Results will be declared in August/September. Main exam call letters will follow in August/September, with exams in September. The main results will be out by September or October. Psychometric tests, interviews, and group exercises are planned for October/November, with final results expected by November or December.
For dual degree holders, proof of passing the final exam must also be submitted by September 30. Those with qualifications like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, or Cost Accountant are eligible to apply as well.
Application Fee and Financial Eligibility
The application fee is ₹750 for Unreserved/EWS/OBC candidates; SC/ST/PwBD applicants are exempted from this fee. Candidates who have defaulted on loans or credit card dues and not settled them before receiving an offer letter are ineligible for appointment. However, those who clear their dues before joining but whose CIBIL status isn't updated must either update it or provide NOCs from lenders.
Applicants are advised to verify their CIBIL score/status before applying to ensure eligibility. This step is crucial to avoid any disqualification due to financial discrepancies during the recruitment process.
SBI PO Recruitment Process
The selection process for the SBI PO positions involves multiple stages: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, Interview, and Group Exercise. Candidates must successfully clear each stage to progress to the next.
