Gold rates in India dropped significantly on November 21, tracking international prices. The sentiment in precious metals has turned bearish after expectations of rate cut in December dulled and US non-farm payrolls that rebounded in September.
In the opening bell, MCX gold is below Rs 1,22,500 mark. But it is the MCX silver futures that crashed massively by Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,100.
Comex gold is currently struggling at $4,060 per ounce, and is headed for its weekly decline. On the other hand, Spot silver plunged by 2% as investors observed a stronger than expected US jobs print, which indicates that US Fed is likely to hold rates in December 2025 policy.

Gold prices slipped to around ,030 per ounce on Friday, heading for a weekly decline as expectations of a December Federal Reserve rate cut waned following the jobs report. The highly anticipated Labor Department report, postponed by the government shutdown, showed that nonfarm payrolls in September rose by 119,000, well above the forecasted 50,000. Analysts said the data reinforces the Fed’s October assessment of a labor market that is cooling but remains steady, as per Trading Economics.

The latest US job report causes both concerns and optimism. As per US Bureau Of Labor data, the country's total nonfarm payroll employment edged up by 119,000 in September but has shown little change since April, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The unemployment rate, at 4.4 percent, changed little in September. Employment continued to trend up in health care, food services and drinking places, and social assistance. Job losses occurred in transportation and warehousing and in federal government. This is stronger than market expectations.
Silver Prices Live Updates: MCX Silver Futures Crash
Silver rates have underperformed gold on November 21. The MCX silver futures with December 2025 expiry, dropped by Rs 2,615 or 1.70% to trade at Rs 1,51,536 per 1kg. Meanwhile, MCX silver with March 2026 expiry, nosedived by Rs 2,595 or 1.71% to trade at Rs 1,54,709 per 1kg.
Gold Rates Live Updates: MCX Gold Price December 2025 Expiry
MCX gold price dropped by Rs 487 or 0.40% to trade at Rs 1,22,240 per 10 grams. The bullion is currently near its intraday low of Rs 1,22,208 per 10 grams.
