Gold Prices India, June 6: 18k, 22k, 24k Yellow Metal Gets Dearer, Check Latest Prices

Gold prices in India today turned dearer as US bond yields declined after weaker than expected private payrolls data boosting hopes that Federal Reserve would slash interest rates later this year. 22k gold prices today in India jumped by Rs 700 to Rs 67,300/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat yellow metal surged by Rs 7000 to Rs 6,73,000 in the country. Meanwhile, 24k precious metal prices surged by Rs 770 to Rs 73,420/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat yellow metal soared by Rs 7,700 to Rs 7,34,200 on Thursday.

18 carat gold prices today jumped by Rs 570 to Rs 55,060 per 10 grams and 100 grams of 18k yellow metal prices rallied by Rs 5,700 to Rs 5,50,600 on June 6, 2024.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold jumped 0.4% at $2,365.40 per ounce, as of 0121 GMT, after over 1% surge on Wednesday. US gold futures rallied 0.4% to $2,384.50.

Spot silver jumped 1.2% to $30.36 per ounce, platinum was up 0.9 per cent at $1,001.70 and palladium gained 1.1 per cent to $941.25, according to Reuters.

Silver Prices Today: Silver prices in India today jumped by Rs 1800 to Rs 93,500. 100 grams silver prices in India today jumped by Rs 180 to Rs 9,350.

Gold price today jumped by Rs 700, fell by Rs 200 on June 5, soared by Rs 700 on June 4, fell by Rs 400 on June 3, remained unchanged on June 2, fell by Rs 200 on June 1, held steady on May 31, slipped by Rs 400 on May 30, rallied by Rs 250 on May 29, Jumped by Rs 200 on May 28, and surged by Rs 250 on May 27.

According to Reuters, a weak labour number adds fuel to the fire that the Fed may have to cut rates before year end, boosting gold's appeal, said Bob Haberkorn, senior market strategist at RJO Futures. Lower interest rates decrease the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding gold.

The Reuters report added, "if we see the U.S. Payrolls drops significantly on Friday, the market will be a lot more comfortable in thinking that the Federal Reserve could start cutting (interest rates) in sometime in late summer September," said Bart Melek, head of commodity strategies at TD Securities.
