Buyers purchasing larger quantities also saw a benefit, 10 grams of 24K gold was priced at Rs 1,11,380, down Rs 110, while 100 grams dropped by Rs 1,100 to Rs 11,13,800.

Similarly, 22 Karat gold, which is widely preferred for traditional jewellery, was priced at Rs 10,210 per gram, showing a dip of Rs 10 from yesterday's Rs 10,220. The price for 10 grams declined to Rs 1,02,100, a reduction of Rs 100, and 100 grams was available for Rs 10,21,000, lower by Rs 1,000.

For more budget-conscious buyers, 18 Karat gold also saw a slight reduction in Chennai. On September 15, 2025, the price of 1 gram of 18K gold stood at Rs 8,455, reflecting a slight drop of Rs 5 from yesterday's rate of Rs 8,460.
For those purchasing in larger quantities, 8 grams of 18 Karat gold were priced at Rs 67,640, down by Rs 40 from the previous day. Similarly, the cost for 10 grams was Rs 84,550, showing a reduction of Rs 50. Mr. Manav Modi, Analyst, Precious Metal, Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, "Gold witnessed some profit booking from the all-time highs at the start of this week however, losses were limited amidst weak US jobs data, rate cut expectations later this week and rupee depreciation..........After a sharp fall in non-farm payroll earlier this month, market participants had also started to discount 50 bps cut in September meeting, supporting the rally for Gold and Silver."
