ACME Solar Holdings IPO: Public Issue Subscribed 2.75x, GMP Muted, Share Allotment Soon; Check Details
Renewable energy company ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has made waves with its initial public offering (IPO), which closed on Friday, seeing a robust subscription of 2.75 times the shares on offer. The data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) reveals that the IPO garnered bids for 16,00,11,174 shares, well above the 5,82,03,223 shares available.
Investor Response Breakdown
The IPO saw interest across various investor categories. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) portion was especially popular, receiving 3.54 times the allotted quota, signalling confidence from large institutional investors in ACME Solar's long-term growth prospects. Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) also responded positively, with the retail segment being subscribed 3.10 times. The non-institutional investors' category saw a near-full subscription at 97%.
Ahead of the IPO, ACME Solar raised Rs 1,300 crore from anchor investors, which helped set a strong foundation for the issue. The price band for the IPO was set at Rs 275 to Rs 289 per share, and the total IPO size stood at Rs 2,900 crore. This includes a fresh issuance worth Rs 2,395 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of shares valued at Rs 505 crore, with ACME Cleantech Solutions selling a part of its stake.

Use of IPO Proceeds
ACME Solar plans to utilize Rs 1,795 crore from the fresh issuance to reduce its debt, aiming to enhance its financial health and operational flexibility. The remaining funds will go towards general corporate purposes.
