22K/100 Grams Gold Price Jumps By Rs 1500, 24k/100 Grams Rises By Rs 1700; Silver Falls

Gold prices in India finally jumped today after remaining steady on June 10, unchanged on June 9, and falling sharply on June 8. 22K gold prices in India today jumped by Rs 150 to Rs 65,850/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat yellow metal prices today surged by Rs 1500 to Rs 6,58,500 as investors are looking forward to US inflation data and Fed Reserve's policy declaration later in the week after stronger than expected payrolls report on June 7.

24k precious metal prices rose by Rs 170 to Rs 71,840/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat yellow metal prices jumped by Rs 1700 to Rs 7,18,400. Meanwhile, 18k gold prices today in the country rose by Rs 120 to Rs 53,880/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat gold prices today rallied by Rs 1200 to Rs 5,38,800.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold declined 0.2% at $2,306.38 per ounce, as of 0109 GMT. US gold futures slipped 0.2% to $2,323.00. Spot silver fell 0.7% to $29.56 per ounce, platinum was down 0.1% at $966.85 and palladium lost 0.1% to $903.25., according to Reuters.

Silver Prices Today: Silver prices in India today fell by Rs 1200 to Rs 90,500/kg. Today 100 grams of silver prices declined by Rs 120 to Rs 9050. Earlier, there was sharp fall in silver prices on June 8 when prices declined sharply by Rs 4,500 to Rs 91,500/kg.

According to Reuters, "People's Bank of China (PBOC) has never been a constant buyer. There have been distinct phases of buying followed by multi-month breaks. But as long as the PBOC doesn't resume buying, gold prices could trade sideways because the China buying topic is a key market focus," said Carsten Menke, an analyst at Julius Baer.

On whether investors should buy gold now or not, Anuj Gupta of HDFC Securities said, "Till the outcome of the US Fed meeting becomes public on 12th June 2024, gold prices are expected to remain choppy due to the strong US dollar. So, it is advised to maintain a sell-on-rise strategy. In the international market, gold prices are expected to remain between $2,280 to $2,330 per ounce, whereas the MCX gold rate may remain at Rs 70,500 to Rs 71,800 per 10 gm."
