Gold Prices Trade Steady Ahead Of Diwali

Gold prices in India were trading marginally higher, ahead of the festive season. 22 karats gold in Mumbai city was trading at Rs 29,300, whereas 24 karats gold in Mumbai was trading at Rs 31,200.

Gold prices in the international markets was also steady, though the dollar pared some gains, which helped gold prices.

Spot gold in the international markets rose marginally by 0.22 percent to $1,252 an ounce. The precious metal had fallen nearly 0.6 percent on Friday to a low of $1,247.01.

Meanwhile, most jewelers are anticipating brisk sales this year, given the higher disposable income with most consumers. Prices of gold this year are far more higher, as compared to where they were last year.
