Gold Lower As Britishers Vote To "Leave" or "Stay" In The EU

International gold was steady at a two week low, even as Britishers were voting to stay or remain in the EU.

The results will decide whether the UK will remain a part of the trade block or will part away.
The polls will take place between 0600-2100 GMT today and the results expected early on Friday. International spot gold was seen at $ 1,268 an ounce.

Following the global trend, the MCX, Gold futures for August 2016 contract were trading at Rs 30,096, per 10 gram, down by 0.09 per cent at 1.57 pm IST. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 29,935.

A vote to leave the 28-member could take Europe back into depression, which will add more pressure on the global economy.

If UK will part from the EU, it will upset global financial markets, boosting the demand of safe haven appeal for the yellow metal. Check gold rates here.
