Are Banks In India Open On April 1, 2022?

As the current fiscal year draws to a close and the new fiscal year 2023 commences from April 1, 2022- banks usually as per the RBI guidelines observe a holiday on the first day i.e. April 1 in lieu of the Yearly closing of Bank Account.

Likewise, as per the RBI holiday list, banks in most of the places barring Chandigarh, Meghalaya, HP and Mizoram, will observe a holiday on April 1, 2022.

As per the guidelines, all agency bank government transactions in a fiscal year are to be accounted for within the same financial year.

Then on April 2, 2022 banks will observe a holiday on account of Gudi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, 1st Navratra, Telugu New Year's Day in the state of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu, Goa, and Jammu and Kashmir.
