7th Pay Commission: Pending DA Arrears May Be Released Soon
Central government employees awaiting their DA arrears will likely receive the same shortly. As per various media reports the Union cabinet together with the cabinet secretary will likely be holding a meeting for the same before December 25.
The DA allowance rate has been increased to finally 31 percent after the latest hike of 3 percent in October from the previous 17%.

There has been a demand put forth by the Cabinet Council that while restoring the DA, there shall be a one-time settlement of DA arrears which has been put on hold for 18 months.
DA is the cost of living adjustment allowance paid to PSU employees as well as pensioners from the sector.
Importantly, amid the pandemic breakout, the government had stood an increase in DA in May 2020. Thereafter, the halt was lifted on June 30, 2021.
