SBI Card: Key Changes From 1 November
The new changes related to online transactions and the fee structure are mentioned in the press release by SBI Card. Here are all the details you need to know.

Transaction Fee On Education Payments
SBI Card users may see changes in transaction fees on education payments made through third-party apps. From 1 November 2025, users making education payments through third-party apps will incur a 1% transaction fee. This applies to payments made to educational institutions via aggregators or payment apps. However, no fee will be charged if the payment is made directly to the institution's website or Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals on campus.
Transaction Fees For Wallet Loads
A 1% charge will also apply to wallet load transactions exceeding Rs 1,000. For example, adding Rs 2,000 to a digital wallet will result in a Rs 20 fee. According to the SBI Card website, "W.e.f. 1st Nov 2025, a fee of 1% of the transaction amount will be applicable on every wallet load transaction exceeding Rs 1,000."
Extra Charges And Other Fees
SBI Card has also imposed a cash payment fee of Rs 250. If a payment is dishonoured, a dishonor fee of 2% of the payment amount is charged, with a minimum of Rs 500. For cheque payments, there is a fee of Rs 200.
The cash advance fee at SBI ATMs and other domestic ATMs is set at 2.5% of the transaction amount, with a minimum charge of Rs 500. At international ATMs, this fee remains the same.
Late Payment Charges
SBI Card's late payment charges are applied if users do not pay the minimum amount due (MAD) on time. Additionally, the card replacement fee in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 250 is charged to users. For Aurum cards, the card replacement fee is Rs 1,500. In emergencies abroad, the actual cost is charged with a minimum of $175 for Visa and $148 for Mastercard.
In August, SBI Card reduced complimentary benefits on a range of credit cards. The credit card issuer is removing its complimentary air accident insurance coverage for most of its credit card categories as part of a phased manner.
