Rs 1 Lakh Invested In This Small Cap Fund Is Worth Rs 3.17 lakhs Today
Before we would begin the article, we would like to highlight the fact that we are just mentioning returns and please do not construe this as an investment strategy. We have have no buy, sell or hold on the units of the below mentioned scheme.
There has been a paradigm shift that has gradually taken place among Indian investors. The traditional fixed deposits and gold investments are making way for mutual fund investments. In fact, the stellar returns is one of the top reasons investors are moving money gradually to mutual funds.

Quant Small Cap Fund: Best performing mutual fund scheme
The Quant Small Cap Fund is the best performing scheme at the moment among the several mutual fund schemes that are available. This is in terms of 3-year and 5-year returns. The fund has given 3-year returns of 36.66% and 5-year returns of 38.34% making it the top draw across schemes and categories. An SIP in Quant Small cap Fund of Rs 1000 each month over the last 36-months would be worth rs 60,000 today.
Now the caveat! This scheme is a small cap scheme and is riding on the index at record levels. Should the indices fall from here, we may see a sharper reaction from small cap stocks and hence in the NAV of the scheme. This s only an assumption because we do not really know where the markets are headed from here. In terms of 5-year returns there are several other Quant Mutual Fund schemes that emerge in the top 5. What is also interesting is that several of these schemes are from the small cap space.
In any case, we think that the markets maybe fairly valued and hence one needs to be a little circumspect when investing lumpsum in stocks or mutual fund units.
