Zomato Drops a New "Healthy Mode" Targeting Health-Conscious Consumers; Shares Trade In Green, Up 1.5%
Food delivery major Zomato has come up with an innovative new concept called Healthy Mode to help users make genuinely nutritious food choices. AccodingZomato is undergoing a mission to deliver "better food for more people", addressing a gap in the platform's offering for health-conscious consumers.

All about Zomato Healthy Mode
In a statement shared on X, Deepinder Goyal, Zomato's founder, explained the motivation behind Healthy Mode. "For years, there's been something about Zomato that made me uneasy. We made eating out and ordering in easier than ever, but we never really helped people truly eat better. Today, we've taken one of the biggest steps in fixing that blind spot. We're launching Healthy Mode on Zomato," he said.
As per the announcement, the new healthy mode will use AI and restaurant data to calculate a healthy score for each dish, ranging from low to super, based on critical nutritional factors such as protein, complex carbs, fibre, and micronutrients, not just calories. The platform will also provide a clear explanation of what makes each dish healthy, giving transparency to users.
Zomato's Healthy Mode tackles a big missing piece in India's food delivery scene. Until now, finding genuinely nutritious meals on apps wasn't easy. Sure, you could order a salad or a smoothie bowl, but getting a meal that was actually healthy was quite tricky. This will make it simple for users to choose meals that are actually good for them.
For Professional Athletes and Health Enthusiasts
Deepinder Goyal further explained that "Healthy Mode is not a casual feature for beginners. The bar has been set high, making it suitable even for professional athletes who need precise nutritional guidance."
When will Zomato Health Mode be available?
Currently the feature is live in Gurgaon, as per the update; however, Zomato plans to expand the feature nationwide, inviting users to test it and provide feedback.
