The much talked about WPL 2026 Auction will take place today, November 27, starting at 3:30 PM in New Delhi. This year's blockbuster Women Premier League auction features 277 players, including 194 Indian players and 83 overseas stars, who will compete for 73 available slots across five franchises: Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, Mumbai Indians Women, Delhi Capitals Women, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants.

For the WPL 2026 auction, each team has a total salary purse of Rs. 16 crore, which needs to be managed carefully across marquee players, capped talent, and emerging prospects.
Teams must build a squad of at least 15 players, sticking to salary caps, Right-To-Match (RTM) rules, and retention policies.
The auction will have multiple rounds which will allow teams to include both big-name purchases along with budget-friendly picks to create a well-rounded squad for the upcoming WPL season.
Base Price Categories for WPL 2026 Auction
Players in the WPL auction are categorised into base price brackets based on experience, skill, and international exposure. These price bands set the minimum bid required:
- Rs. 75 lakh for marquee players & top international stars
- Rs. 50 lakh for established Indian & overseas performers
- Rs. 30 lakh for consistent emerging talents
- Rs. 20 lakh & Rs. 10 lakh for young domestic players and newbies
Top Players to Watch Out For At The WPL Auction
Several leading cricketers are expected to be in focus this year. Among the top marquee players on the WPL 2026 auction list are:
Deepti Sharma (India all-rounder), Renuka Singh (India's fast bowler), Sophie Devine (New Zealand all-rounder), Alyssa Healy (Australia's opener), Amelia Kerr (New Zealand leg-spinner and all-rounder), Meg Lanning (Australian team captain), Laura Wolvaardt (South African Batter).
Additionally, several associate players will also participate in the auction, including Esha Oza (UAE), Tara Norris (USA), and Theertha Satish (UAE).
