Thanksgiving Day 2025:

Thanksgiving holiday is huge in the United States of America. It is their annual national holiday and is celebrated for harvest and blessings in the respective year. Usually, Thanksgiving falls on fourth Thursday of November in USA, Canada and other countries who see it as major holiday. The holiday is celebrated with a traditional fare and parade, while the families and friends join together for a happy meal which includes their home-made turkey, bread stuffing, potatoes, cranberries, and pumpkin pie - something that has been followed for decades.

Thanksgiving Day - USA - History:

As per the White House, in 1789, just years after America's triumph over tyranny in the Revolutionary War, President George Washington established the first National Day of Thanksgiving, declaring "the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor."

US President Donald Trump On Thanksgiving Day:

The White House released a statement of US President Donald Trump for this year's Thanksgiving. The 47th President said, "As we prepare to celebrate 250 glorious years of American independence, this Thanksgiving, we summon the faith, resolve, and unflinching fortitude of the giants of American history who came before us."

Trump encouraged all Americans to gather, in homes and places of worship, to offer a prayer of thanks to God for many blessings.

He said, "IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth."

Black Friday Sale

Black Friday is celebrated a day after Thanksgiving on Friday. Hence, this year, the Black Friday sale will take place on November 28. On this day, retailers, companies, and shoppers will offer deep discounts and offers on various products and services.

Occasionally used to identify different financial calamities in the 19th and 20th centuries, the term gradually became popular in the 1980s to refer to this critically important day in the retail industry. Black Friday is routinely the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States in terms of number of shoppers, though not necessarily the biggest in terms of sales volume, as per Britannica.
