Banks across India are set to remain closed for multiple days in November 2025, as per the latest list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). According to the notification, banks across the country will remain closed for a total of 11 days, including both public and regional holidays as well as regular weekend offs, all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.

However, not every holiday will apply uniformly across India. Bank closures vary by state and region, depending on local festivals and observances. Therefore, the RBI has advised customers to check the detailed list of state-specific holidays on its official website before visiting their nearest branch.

November 1, 2025 (Saturday): Public and private sector banks will remain closed in Karnataka on the occasion of Kannada Rajyothsava, the state formation day celebrated with great pride.

Banks in Uttarakhand will also observe a holiday for Igas-Bagwal, popularly known as Budhi Deepawali, marking the regional Diwali festivities.

November 2, 2025 (Sunday): All banks across India will remain closed for the weekly Sunday holiday.

November 5, 2025 (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in most parts of the country to commemorate multiple festivals, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima and Rahas Purnima.

Guru Nanak Jayanti, marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, is observed nationwide with prayers and community service events.

November 6, 2025 (Thursday): Banks in Shillong will be shut for the Nongkrem Dance Festival, a traditional Khasi celebration of gratitude for a good harvest and peace in the community.

November 7, 2025 (Friday): Following the Nongkrem holiday, banks in Shillong will again remain closed for the Wangala Festival, a major harvest festival celebrated by the Garo tribe of Meghalaya.

November 8, 2025 (Saturday): This day marks the second Saturday, which is a standard bank holiday across India. In Bengaluru, banks will also observe Kanakadasa Jayanthi, honoring the birth anniversary of the revered saint-poet Kanakadasa.

November 9, 2025 (Sunday): Weekly Sunday holiday, banks will remain closed nationwide.

November 16, 2025 (Sunday): Weekly Sunday holiday

November 22, 2025 (Saturday): Banks across the country will remain closed for the fourth Saturday, as per RBI regulations.

November 23, 2025 (Sunday): Weekly Sunday holiday

November 30, 2025 (Sunday): The final Sunday of the month; banks will remain closed.

Bank Services Interruption Due To Holidays

Since several bank branches will remain non-operational on these dates, customers are advised to plan their cash withdrawals, cheque clearances and in-person banking tasks ahead of time. However, online banking, mobile banking, and ATM services will remain functional throughout the month, ensuring uninterrupted access to digital financial services.
