The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 10: Vivek Agnihotri’s Film Crosses Rs 14 Cr in Second Weekend
Vivek Agnihotri's latest political thriller, The Bengal Files, continues to make headlines, not just for its bold subject matter but also for its surprising box office performance. Despite facing stiff competition from other Bollywood and Hollywood releases, the film has shown resilience in its second weekend.
The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 10 Updates
According to data from industry tracker Sacnilk, The Bengal Files earned a total of Rs 2.9 crore over its second weekend, a respectable figure, especially given the drop many films face after their opening week. The daily earnings stood at Rs 1.15 crore on both Saturday and Sunday, marking a rebound after a slow Friday, when the film managed only Rs 60 lakh.

This brings the film's total 10-day collection to Rs 14.15 crore. While the number falls short of blockbuster status, it is noteworthy given the film's limited promotional push and politically charged content. The movie had made Rs 6.75 crore during its opening weekend and the current trajectory suggests that it has found a niche audience that is keeping the momentum going.
Baaghi 4 Vs The Bengal Files Vs Param Sundari Vs 'The Conjuring: Last Rites' Vs 'Madharsi'
'The Bengal Files,' featuring Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, saw a boost in its second weekend. Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi 4' also struggled post-release. Initially, it had a strong opening but later faltered. Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's 'Param Sundari' is attracting limited audiences after 15 days.
As per Sacnik estimates, 'Baaghi 4' added Rs 1.5 crore to its earnings. This estimates suggest that 'Baaghi 4' earned Rs 1.5 crore on Saturday.
Sacnilk reports that this romantic comedy 'Param Sundari' collected Rs 49 lakh over the weekend. With its latest earnings, 'Param Sundari' has accumulated a total of Rs 49.54 crore in India.
'The Bengal Files' capitalised on the weekend window, increasing its earnings by over Rs 1 crore. Released last Friday, it faced stiff competition from Tiger Shroff's action drama 'Baaghi 4,' Hollywood horror 'The Conjuring: Last Rites,' and Sivakarthikeyan's 'Madharsi.'
The box office figures are sourced from industry estimates; they may vary from official data.
Vivek Agnihotri Directed The Bengal Files' Review and Storyline
The Bengal Files is set in undivided Bengal and recounting the horrific events of Direct Action Day in August 1946. Despite being thematically tied to the region, no theatres in the state have screened the film since its nationwide release on September 5.
The Bengal Files is the third installment in Vivek Agnihotri's controversial yet popular trilogy that explores forgotten or suppressed events in Indian history. Following The Tashkent Files (2019), which delved into the mysterious death of Lal Bahadur Shastri, and the critically and commercially successful The Kashmir Files (2022), which depicted the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, The Bengal Files tackles the communal violence that erupted in Kolkata during the pre-Partition era.
The Bengal Files Star Cast
The film stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar,- a recurring cast from Agnihotri's earlier works. With its intense narrative, period detail, and socio-political commentary, the film attempts to revive historical memory and stir public debate, much like its predecessors.
