Reports that the White House has narrowed its search for the next Fed chair to White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett, a choice investors view as aligned with President Trump's push for lower rates, reinforced expectations of easier policy and helped fuel another rotation into large cap tech, as per Trading Economics.

On stock-specific, Oracle led the rise jumping 4% after Deutsche Bank reiterated a bullish view while Nvidia rose 1.4% and Microsoft gained 1.8% as the AI trade regained momentum. On the other hand, Alphabet fell 1.1%. Deere & Company tumbled 5.7% after issuing a downbeat forecast for the current year. US markets will be closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

What Is Open Or Closed On Thanksgiving?

- All post offices of USPS are closed.

- All banks both government and private are shut.

- Many private companies have declared holiday in the USA and even in other countries.

- The government offices are shut as well.

- Transportation will be open but with limited availability.

Are US Groceries Open On Thanksgiving?

Walmart Thanksgiving Holiday:

The world's largest retailer celebrates Thanksgiving Day and hence all Walmart stores are closed.

Target Thanksgiving Holiday:

Target joined the bandwagon of declaring holiday for Thanksgiving Day in 2020. It announced that time all its operations will be closed on this significant day. For the past five years, Target stores have been closed on Thanksgiving and a spokesperson confirmed that same will be practiced on November 27, 2025. However, shoppers still have the option to check out all their holiday sales and deals 24X7.

Starbucks Thanksgiving Holiday:

Unlike the above two, the popular coffeehouse will be open on Thanksgiving Day. They will continue to operate on their normal hours of 6 am to 9 pm, however, this could vary on November 27 depending upon locations due to the celebration.

Costco Thanksgiving Holiday:

Costco follows a fixed holiday pattern every year and Thanksgiving is an official holiday for them.

Kroger Thanksgiving Holiday:

Kroger's stores will be open till 5PM on Thursday.
