Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy Seeks Centre's Support for Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City Development

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently met with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. During their discussion, Reddy sought the Centre's backing for the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City project. He urged Goyal to release Rs 596.61 crore, previously approved by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), to advance this initiative.

Support for Zaheerabad Smart City Development

Reddy highlighted the need for financial aid to enhance infrastructure in the smart city, focusing on water and power supply networks. He also emphasised the significance of the Hyderabad-Warangal Corridor and requested funds for the swift completion of Warangal Airport. The ongoing feasibility study of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Industrial Corridor was also brought to Goyal's attention.

Industrial Corridors and Defence Initiatives

The Chief Minister discussed Telangana's efforts in establishing a Defence and Aerospace park in Adibatla, equipped with modern infrastructure. He appealed for the Hyderabad-Bangalore Industrial Corridor to be recognised as an Aero-Defence corridor. This move aims to bolster defence-related industries in the region.

Additionally, Reddy shared plans for developing 100 plug-and-play industrial parks ready for investment. He sought assistance from the Centre to approve this new industrial development project, which promises to attract significant investments and boost economic growth.

Meeting Participants

The meeting saw participation from several key figures. State Government Advisor Sports AP Jitender Reddy, Members of Parliament Mallu Ravi and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajith Reddy, and Coordinating Secretary for Central Schemes Gaurav Uppal were present. Their involvement underscores the importance of these projects for Telangana's development.

The discussions between Reddy and Goyal reflect Telangana's commitment to advancing its industrial landscape. By seeking central support, the state aims to enhance infrastructure and attract investments, fostering economic growth and development across various sectors.
