TCS Salary Hike Controversy: The Tata Group-backed mega tech company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has clarified over a recent Reddit post where an anonymous individual claims to have received a meager Rs 422 per month salary hike after four years of services at the company. TCS issued a statement to GoodReturns, saying the facts claimed by the Reddit individual "do not appear to be properly represented." The largest tech player in India said 80% of its workforce received wage hikes and double-digit increments based upon their performance since September.
TCS Salary Hike:
After the Reddit individual claimed to call the work culture as toxic at TCS, the Tata Group company said, "We do not comment on individual cases; however, the facts do not appear to be properly represented by the anonymous user..."
"TCS had announced increments for its workforce effective September 1st, and we are pleased that this has reflected in a compensation revision for over 80% of our workforce," the statement added.
Furthermore, TCS explained on average, salaries were hiked between 4.5% and 7% from September 1, 2025. While the high performers received double-digit increments.

TCS Rs 422 Per Month Hike Claim:
As per the Reddit post, the employee joined TCS in 2021, and has been working for about 4 years. The individual claimed that the first two years at TCS were 'toxic hell'.
''I started in a support project that was straight-up nightmare fuel. Toxic doesn't even cover it - managers barked orders like rabid dogs, day in and day out. Zero learning, zero growth, just endless shouting and soul-crushing micromanagement,'' the post said.
The other two years, as per the individual, were an 'Okay Phase.' The post said, ''Fast forward to now: I've been on development projects for the past couple of years. It's... moderate? Not terrible exposure to coding and dev work, but nothing groundbreaking. At least it's better than the support grind. But here's what guts me every single day: the pay.''
Then the individual took a jibe at TCS calling its compensation a 'real gut punch.' The individual's post said, "In a world where IT pros are jumping ship for double or triple the salary elsewhere, TCS is handing out peanuts. This year-2025-my "raise"? A whopping 422 Rs per month. Yeah, you read that right. And it came 6 months late.''
"We at the bottom do ALL the heavy lifting, coding through nights, fixing bugs under pressure - only to get slapped by managers who couldn't care less. Higher-ups treat us like disposable trash, while they rake in the big bucks,'' the post claimed.
It needs to be noted that the individual's identity is anonymous at Reddit and hence GoodReturns cannot confirm whether the person is actually an employee of TCS or not. Neither can they confirm the post's factualness. Read below the full post:
