In a positive trading session with strong performances in sectors such as IT and automobiles on November 12, the Sensex closed at 84,466.51, gaining 595.19 points, which is an increase of 0.71%. Alongside, the Nifty 50 ended the day at 25,875.80, up by 180.85 points or 0.70%.
Indian stock market started Wednesday's session on a strong note, buoyed by positive global cues and firm trends across major international indices. Early indicators from the derivatives market suggest that investors' sentiment remains optimistic ahead of key corporate earnings and updates on global trade developments.
As of 8:45 AM, GIFT Nifty futures were trading 1131.50 points, or 0.51%, signaling a possible gap-up opening for the benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50.

Metal and financial stocks led the decline today Tata Steel and Tata Motors (TMPV) were as the top losers, each falling 1.36%, due to mild profit booking after recent gains in metal and auto stocks. Shriram Finance also slipped 1.15%. Among other laggards, JSW Steel dropped 0.76%, while Bharat Electronics (BEL) edged 0.78% lower.
