Result Update: Dr Reddys Laboratories | 1QFY26 miss; Sema and Abata to lead future
“DRRD’s 1Q was a miss, though overall it reported 11%/4%/2% YoY growth for Revenue/EBITDA/PAT during the quarter, the same were -2%/-8%/-6% vs street and -8%/-14%/-14% vs JMFe. The miss vs JMFe was on account of higher than expected price erosion in gRevlimid during the quarter. Within segments, the US de-grew (-11% ) due to price erosion. India grew 11% YoY, enabled by new launches and price increase. The overall topline growth was supported by strong performance in both Europe (+16% YoY in base business) and EM (+18% YoY due to higher volume, new launches and favourable fx rate). PSAI grew 7% YoY. Future growth will be driven by a healthy pipeline across markets, including Semaglutide and Abatacept. Margins are likely to be maintained at ~25% with flexibility on SG&A as well as R&D spend. With Semaglutide and Liraglutide launches in near-term, DRRD remains best placed among generic players to benefit from the upcoming generic GLP-1 wave. Overall the stock remains attractive, vs large cap peers, however given the lowered guidance for gRevlimid FY26, we revise our FY26 estimates downwards. The larger story remains intact as the gRevlimid has limited contribution in FY27/FY28 estimates, thus we maintain our BUY rating with a TP of INR 1,521,” said Amey Chalke of JM Financial Institutional Securities.

Result Update: Infosys | On firmer footing
“INFO reported 2.6% cc QoQ revenue growth (organic: 2.2% cc), ahead of JMFe: 1.8%. Quality of revenue improved too, reflected in 60bps QoQ decline in third-party cost. Ramp-up of deals previously won and seasonality (higher working days) helped. Impressively, INFO improved realisations further, on top of 3.5% increase in FY25. Project Maximus and improved adoption of its enterprise AI platform explain that. Productivity improvement from enterprise AI platform is not only helping INFO drive non-linear revenue, but also improve win ratio in vendor consolidation scenarios. 44% QoQ increase in deal wins (USD 3.8bn), including a mega deal, offers evidence. Despite these, INFO narrowed its organic growth guidance from 0-3% to 0.6-2.6%. Prima-facie, this (cut at the upper-end) appears negative. We view it otherwise though. Strong 1Q and a normal seasonality (1H>2H) means INFO’s guidance is not based on 2H recovery hope. Symbolically too, a narrow range indicates higher confidence. Moreover, ours (and Street’s) estimates were anyways not at the upper-end. In fact, we now move our FY26E organic cc growth to 2.4%, closer to the (revised) upper-end. Marginal cut to margin estimates keep EPS largely unchanged. But improved confidence on numbers should drive re-rating. We retain BUY with INR 1,840 TP,” said Abhishek Kumar of JM Financial Institutional Securities.

Nifty Prediction Today By Anand James, Chief Market Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited
There are no signs of exhaustion yet after achieving the first upside objective of 25215, except for the presence of a horizontal resistance. But with directional indicators yet to signal a momentum sufficient enough for a breakout move, favoured view expects a consolidation. Incidentally, a limited upside view was favoured yesterday as well. However, a break of 25400 could signal the maturity of the descending broadening wedge pattern, inside which the present trades are fitted in. We will wait for the same, with eyes on 25174/113 as supports critical for maintaining the prevailing positive bias.

Market Outlook Today By Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited
US striking trade deals with many countries is slowly removing concerns surrounding tariff wars. Even though global trade has been impacted this year and global growth will remain subdued at around 2.8% equity markets are slowly discounting recovery in trade and growth in 2026. This optimism explains the resilience and uptrend in global equity markets now. In the mother market US, good corporate earnings are providing the fundamental support to the market.
Good Q1 numbers from Infosys can provide support to the weak IT index. But there is no room for undue optimism in the IT segment.
Regarding institutional activity, FIIs have turned consistent sellers in the cash market even while continuing to invest through the primary market route. The principal reason for FII selling is the high valuations in India and relatively cheaper valuations in other markets.
