Closing Bell: Sensex Ends 400 points Higher, Nifty Settles At 24,828; SBI Life, HDFC Life, Axis Bank Top Loser

The stock market opened flat on Tuesday, with investors staying cautious. The Nifty 50 began 43 points down at 24,637, while the Sensex opened 140 points lower at 80,750. Both indices are trading near their one-month low.

Indian equity benchmarks are poised for a subdued opening on Tuesday, with the GIFT Nifty trading 0.13% lower at 24,676 in early indications. This comes after a weak performance in the previous session, where the NSE Nifty 50 declined by 150 points or 0.63% to close at 24,680, and the BSE Sensex slipped 570 points or 0.70% to end at 80,890.

Asian Markets Trade Mixed Ahead of US-China Trade Developments

Asian markets showed mixed trends as investors kept a close watch on the ongoing US-China trade discussions. Japan's Nikkei 225 dropped 0.61%, while the broader Topix index declined 0.76%.

South Korea's Kospi shed 1.09%, and the Kosdaq remained largely unchanged. On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.68%, and China's Shanghai Composite posted a modest rise of 0.12%.

US Futures Steady After Record Closes

US stock futures were little changed in early trade, even as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite notched fresh record highs on Monday. Futures on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 edged up around 0.1%, while Dow Jones futures added a marginal 6 points.
