Stock Market Live Updates: As of 2 pm today market was bleeding with the Sensex slipping 607.74 points (0.75%) to 80,178.80 and the Nifty falling 171.50 points (0.69%) to 24,540.55. On the gaining side, Hero MotoCorp jumped slightly by 0.91%, SBI Life Insurance, Titan Company, Coal India ,and Adani Enterprises provided some support to the indices. However, selling pressure in heavyweights dragged the market down, with Shriram Finance, HCL Tech, Infosys, TCS, and Jio Financial emerging as the top losers of the session.
Nifty and Sensex witnessed a sharp fall on Thursday, minutes after opening on a flat note today. Nifty 50 was down around 123 points and was struggling to retain the 24,500 mark, whereas BSE Sensex was down around 524 points at 80,262 points.
Earlier, Gift Nifty indicated a weak opening of the NSE and BSE on Thursday, August 28 as Donald Trump tariffs hit the Indian exports industry. The Indian stock market will open today after a holiday on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Investors are likely to react to the Trump tariff implementation on Indian goods, leading to a further fall in Nifty and Sensex valuation.
