Dalal Street Starts In Red! Nifty, Sensex Dip At Open; What's Shaking Stock Market Investors' Sentiment?

Stock Market Opening: The Indian stock market continued its downward trajectory on Friday, July 11, as Nifty 50 opened 99.8 points lower at 25,255 points, whereas Sensex tumbled 368 points to open at 82,821.8 points. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shares declined nearly 2% after the IT giant announced lower-than-expected June quarter results for financial year 2025-26.

Nifty IT and Nifty Media were among the top laggards on Friday. Nifty IT was down 1.27% lower at 37,890.75 points, whereas Nifty Media was down by 1.6% at 1705.45 points. Apart from these indices, Nifty Metal, FMCG, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank, and Healthcare were among the top indices which supported the Indian stock market trade today.

Top Gainers of The Day

Hindustan Unilever, SBI Life, Adani Ports, Shriram Finance, Power Grid, Adani Enterprises, Dr Reddy's, and Nestle India remained among the top gainers on Nifty 50 and Sensex on Friday.

Top Laggards of The Day

TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL Tech and other IT stocks were among the top losers on Friday. Other than IT stocks, Apollo Hospital, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserve, and Jio Finance were among the top losers today.

The Indian stock market opening on Friday came after Gift Nifty indicated a weak start of Nifty and Sensex today. Earlier, the Indian stock market opened on a weak note with Nifty Smallcap, Midcap, IT, and other indices ending in red.
