SBI UPI Services to Be Down on July 22: Check Scheduled Timing

According to the bank's latest social media update, the maintenance is scheduled to take place on July 22, 2025, during which UPI services will remain unavailable from 00:15 hrs to 01:00 hrs IST.

SBI Service Down Today

In its official communication, SBI stated, "Due to scheduled maintenance activity, SBI UPI services will be temporarily unavailable from 00:15 hrs to 01:00 hrs on 22.07.2025 (IST). Customers may continue to use UPI Lite Services for uninterrupted service. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers."

However, SBI has confirmed that UPI Lite services will remain operational during this window, allowing users to continue making small-value payments without interruption.

How to Use UPI Lite via BHIM SBI Pay?

  • To activate UPI Lite on the BHIM SBI Pay app, customers need to download and open the app.
  • Tap on the UPI Lite section and load funds into the UPI Lite wallet.
  • Once the wallet is loaded successfully, UPI Lite will be activated on the app.

Understand UPI Lite Process

UPI Lite transactions do not require a UPI PIN, making them quick and convenient for small-value payments. The maximum amount that can be loaded into a UPI Lite account at any given time is Rs 2,000. Users can make individual payments of up to Rs 500 per transaction, with a total daily transaction limit of Rs 4,000.

If a customer wishes to disable UPI Lite, it can be done anytime directly from the BHIM SBI Pay app.

It is also important to note that UPI Lite transactions are not reflected in the bank statement, as the payments are debited directly from the wallet. Only the initial wallet load transactions will appear in the statement.

In the event that a user changes their mobile device, SBI advises first disabling the existing UPI Lite account. This action ensures that the remaining balance is automatically credited back to the user's bank account. After this, the customer can create a fresh UPI Lite account on the new device.
