Focus on Energy Security and Irrigation
In Bhagalpur, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Bihar's largest private-sector investment: the 3x800 MW Thermal Power Project at Pirpainti. This Rs 25,000 crore project uses ultra-super critical technology to enhance energy security in Bihar. Additionally, he will launch Phase 1 of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State River Link Project, valued at over Rs 2,680 crore, aimed at improving irrigation and flood control in northeastern Bihar.
The river link project will increase canal discharge capacity and rehabilitate essential infrastructure, benefiting agriculture in the region. These initiatives highlight the government's focus on sustainable development through advanced technology and strategic investments.
Empowering Rural Communities
PM Modi will also launch the National Makhana Board in Bihar, acknowledging the state's significant contribution to makhana production. The board aims to enhance production, manage post-harvest processes, adopt technology, add value, market products, and promote exports. This initiative seeks to elevate Bihar's makhana on a global scale.
Additionally, Community Investment Funds worth Rs 500 crore will be distributed to Cluster Level Federations under the DAY-NRLM scheme. Select CLF presidents will receive cheques symbolically during this event. These efforts are designed to empower rural communities by providing financial support for local development projects.
Enhancing Rail Connectivity
The Prime Minister will also lay foundation stones for several rail projects and inaugurate new train services across Bihar. These developments aim to improve rail connectivity within the state, facilitating easier movement of people and goods. Such projects are crucial for boosting economic activity and ensuring efficient transportation networks.
This visit highlights PM Modi's dedication to fostering growth through strategic investments in key sectors like energy, agriculture, transportation, and community development. By focusing on these areas, the government aims to create a more connected and prosperous India.
