Mumbai Rains: Air Travellers Pay Attention! IndiGo Warns Of Flight Delays Amid Heavy Rains, IMD Issues Alert
Mumbai Rains: As the monsoon is at its peak, Mumbaikars are suffering due to flooding, traffic jams, and waterlogging. Due to severe rainfall, there may be flight disruptions at Mumbai airport, leading to delays in flight schedules, according to an advisory issued by airline IndiGo on Tuesday, July 15. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for multiple Maharashtra districts for heavy rainfall.
The Indian airline has asked its travellers to prepare for some potential delays in their flight status because of Mumbai rains and low visibility. The airline had also shared a link for its passengers to check their IndiGo flight status.

Mumbai Rains: IndiGO Issues Travel Advisory
The airline has also urged its passengers to stay calm and updated with their flight's current status and ensured that the travel disruptions will be resolved shortly as soon as the weather conditions improve.
"There's a heavy downpour over #Mumbai at the moment, causing some temporary disruption to flight schedules.If you are travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual," read an X post by IndiGo.
The airline had also added that it is monitoring the situation closely and will resolve the issue soon. "Please check your flight status at http://bit.ly/31paVKQ or our app before leaving. Your comfort and safety remain our top priority. Thank you for your understanding," read the X post further.
Mumbai Rains: Several Maharashtra Districts On Alert
In the wake of heavy rainfall in multiple Maharashtra districts including Mumbai, the IMD has issued alert for Tuesday. Meanwhile, local authorities have urged people to avoid vising coastal areas and staying unnecessarily outdoors. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on Tuesday. The weather forecasting agency has also issued alert for Thane and Pune as well. Additionally, a red alert was issued for Palghar indicating heavy rainfall in the Maharashtra districts today.
Mumbai Police Issues Advisory
"In view of the heavy rain across Mumbai city and suburbs, citizens are requested to avoid visiting coastal and low-lying areas. Our officials and staff are alert and ready to assist Mumbaikars. Dial 100 / 112 / 103 in case of any emergency," read a post by Mumbai Police on Tuesday.
IMD issues an orange alert when rainfall in a district or an area is expected to occur between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm in a day. As per the IMD update, Mumbai is likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall on Tuesday and over next four days. Other than Mumbai, areas in Pune will witness moderate rainfall in next three to four hours. The rainfall will be accompanied with thunder, lightning, and strong winds in some areas.
