Maharatna PSU Oil & Gas Stock In Focus: GAIL's Q1 Profit Falls To Rs 2,369.20 Crore, Misses Estimates

GAIL India, a Maharatna PSU giant, will be in focus on BSE and NSE, as the company reported nearly a 26% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 2,369.20 crore in the quarter ending June 30, 2025. Revenue recorded mixed performance. Broadly, the Q1 earnings of the oil and gas behemoth missed street estimates.

In Q1FY26, GAIL posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,369.20 crore, registering a decline of 25.6% from the net profit of Rs 3,182.93 crore in the same quarter a year ago. Also, Q1 PAT dropped from Rs 2,491.76 crore net profit reported in Q4FY25.

Furthermore, revenue was under pressure. In the quarter under review, GAIL posted consolidated revenue of Rs 35,428.81 crore, rising from Rs 34,821.89 crore in Q1FY25 but declining from Rs 36,551.15 crore in Q4FY25.

Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL said that, the Company has
incurred a Capex of Rs 3,176 crore during the current quarter, mainly on Pipelines, Petrochemicals, Equity contribution to JVs, etc.

He added that GAIL has got PNGRB's authorization for capacity expansion of
Jamnagar-Loni LPG pipeline from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA involving an estimated capex of
~Rs 5,000 Crores & is expected to be completed within 3 Years. This project will cut down on CO₂
emissions significantly & reduce road mishaps and leaks.

On the standalone basis, GAIL's revenue from operations stood at Rs 34,792 crore in Q1 FY-26 as against Rs 35,707 crore in Q4 FY-25. PBT stood at Rs 2,533 crore in Q1 FY-26 as against Rs 2,701 crore during Q4 FY-25. PAT stood at Rs 1,886 crore in Q1 FY-26 as against Rs 2,049 crore in Q4 FY-25.

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance.

GAIL Debts:

In a positive news, GAIL informed exchanges that it has met its debt obligations, meaning zero default on its loans and debt securities.

As of June 30, 2025, GAIL has an outstanding debt of Rs 15,211.42 crore.

GAIL Share Price:

GAIL will react to its Q1FY26 earnings on Tuesday, July 29. After market hours, GAIL's stock closed at Rs 180.45 apiece on BSE, down by 1.7% with market cap of Rs 1,18,647.67 crore.
