Maharashtra Holiday List: The Maharashtra government has released the full list of government holidays in 2026 for the state. As per the state government's notification, there will be a total of 24 government holidays for the year 2026.
The Maharashtra government holiday list includes special bank holidays and a few extra holidays for state government and local body offices. Here is a full list of holidays in Maharashtra cities including Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur, Pune, etc.

The state government, in its notification, has confirmed that there will be a total of 24 public holidays next year in 2026. There will be a special bank holiday in 1 April for annual account closing, and one extra holiday for state government and local body offices on 11 November.
These public holidays in 2026 will be applicable to state government departments, public institutions, and other notified establishments across the state.
The schedule covers national days, major religious festivals from different communities, and region-specific observances such as Maharashtra Din and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.

Maharashtra Public Holidays In January 2026
There will be a public holiday on 26 January on the occasion of Republic Day in Maharashtra and across India.
Maharashtra Public Holidays February, March 2026
In February, the state government has notified public holiday on 16 February, and 19 February on the occasion of Mahashivratri and Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti, respectively. Additionally, there will be public holiday on 3rd, 19th, 21st, 26th, and 31st March on the to observe Holi, Gudi Padwa, Ramzan Eid, Ram Navmi and Mahavir Ramkalyanak, etc.
Maharashtra Public Holidays In April, May, June 2026
In April, there will be a public holiday on 3rd and 14th April to observe Good Friday and Ambedkar Jayanti. In May, there will be a government holiday on 1 May and 28th May to observe Maharashtra Din, Buddha Pournima, and Bakri Eid. In June, there will be a government holiday on 26th of the month to observe Moharum.
Maharashtra Public Holidays In July, August, September 2026
There will be no government holiday in Maharashtra in July 2026. In August, it will be a public holiday on 15th and 26th of the month to observe Independence Day, Parsi New Year, and Id-E-Milad. There will be a government holiday in September on 14th of the Month on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Maharashtra Public Hoidays in October, November, December 2026
In October, there will be a public holiday on 2nd and 20th of the month to observe Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. In November, there will be a government holiday on 8th and 10th of the month to celebrate Diwali Amavasya and Diwali (Bali Pratipada). It will be a government holiday on 24 November and 25 December on Guru Nanak Jayanti and Christmas.
Additionally, there will be a bank holiday on 1 April and additional holidays for government offices on 11 November on the occasion of Bhaubeej.
