LPG Prices In India February 1: 19Kg LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked Up To Rs 50 On Budget Day; Check Rates Here

The LPG prices in India for 19Kg cylinders has been hiked by up to Rs 50 with effect from February 1, 2026, right on the day when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present Union Budget for FY27. The city of Chennai saw the most hike in LPG, while the price was hiked by Rs 49.5 each in cities like Kolkata and Mumbai.

Among the major metro cities, despite the latest hike, 19Kg LPG price is still below Rs 1,700 per cylinder in Mumbai, while LPG in Delhi has crossed Rs 1,700 mark, and LPG in Kolkata is nearing Rs 1,850 per cylinder. In Chennai, LPG is just 5 paisa away from hitting Rs 1,900 per cylinder mark.

LPG Price In Delhi:

In the national capital, LPG price is hiked by Rs 49 in 19Kg to Rs 1,740.5 per cylinder with effect from February 1, 2026. This is compared to price of Rs 1,691.5 per cylinder.

LPG Price In Kolkata:

With effect from February 1, 19Kg LPG price is at Rs 1,844.5 per cylinder, higher by Rs 49.5 from Rs 1,795 per cylinder in January 2026.

LPG Price In Mumbai:

Further, in the financial hub, Mumbai, 19Kg LPG is now available at Rs 1,692 per cylinder, which is a hike of Rs 49.5 from Rs 1,642.5 per cylinder in January 2026.

LPG Price In Chennai:

The highest hike in LPG is made in Chennai by Rs 50 with effect from February 1, 2026, to Rs 1,899.5 per cylinder. In the previous month, LPG here was at Rs 1,849.5 per cylinder.

The latest hike comes after a steep price cut in LPG prices in the range of Rs 73.06 to Rs 73.34 in January 2026.

Notably, unlike 19Kg LPG prices, the rates of 14.2Kg LPG is kept unchanged since April 8, 2025.

LPG Prices In India 14.2Kg Cylinders:

In April last year, the government increased rates by Rs 50 for all 14.2 Kg LPG cylinders including both Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries that means the subsidised users and non-Ujjwala users i.e. regular consumers. Since then prices have remained unchanged.

Accordingly, for February 2026, LPG prices for 14.2Kg cylinders stood at Rs 853 in Delhi, at Rs 879 in Kolkata, at Rs 852.50 in Mumbai and at Rs 868.50 in Chennai.

The LPG prices are decided by Indian oil marketing companies (OMC) such as Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and BPCL.

Indane has now become one of the largest packed-LPG brands in the world, with IndianOil as the second-largest marketer of LPG globally. Indane is a Consumer Superbrand as conferred by the Superbrands Council of India. It is a brand synonymous with safety, reliability, and convenience.

As per Indian Oil website, Indane LPG is sold and delivered in eight different pack sizes. The 5 kg and 14.2 kg cylinders are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost 90% of all gas distributed,, while the 19 kg, 47.5 kg and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders are marketed for industrial and commercial consumption.

The recently launched 5 kg and 10 kg cylinders made of fiber composite with a trendy and translucent look are the latest addition to the domestic category. IndianOil recently launched a small (2 Kg) cooking gas cylinder also known as Munna, 2 Kg FTL (Free trade LPG) cylinder, thus making available cooking gas cylinders from corner stores for the convenience of its customers. Munna, a mini cooking gas cylinder has been launched especially for catering to Students, working women, street vendors, migrant population in urban and semi urban areas who do not have local address proof, people with lower gas consumption, and commercial establishments with limited space. Indane LPG is also supplied in bulk to large-volume consumers in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
