Karnataka Weather On Aug-29: Red To Orange Alert In Kannada, Udupi, More Districts; Heavy Rains In Bengaluru

Karnataka Weather Update: Heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms is back to struck Karnataka state. On August 29, IMD issued warnings of heavy downpours with red alert in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts and yellow alert in 6 other districts. The city of Bengaluru is also expected to reel with heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Karnataka Weather On Aug-29: Red To Orange Alert In Many Districts

IMD issued red alert for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on August 29. Meanwhile, IMD issued orange alert in these regions from August 30th to August 31st, and yellow alert from September 1st to 4th.

"Heavy to Very heavy rain likely to occur at one or two places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts," IMD said.

Furthermore, IMD issued an orange alert in regions like Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, and Shivamogga districts, while yellow alert was imposed on Hassan, Vijayapura, Yadgir, and Gadag districts.

For the north interior Karnataka, IMD said, heavy Rain /thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Belagavi, Dharwad and Haveri districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at many places Bagalkot, Bidar, Gadag, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir districts on August 29.

Bengaluru Weather Update:

As per IMD, heavy Rain /thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at many places Ballari, Bengaluru (Rural), Bengaluru (Urban), Chamarajanagara, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Tumakuru and Vijayanagara districts.

IMD warns fishermen. It said, squally weather with wind speed reaching 40 - 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely to prevail along and off Karnataka coasts from 28th, 29th and 31st August and 01st September 2025. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the above sea areas during the above-mentioned period.
