Rishab Shetty's Film Crosses Rs 650 Box Office Collection Worldwide
Despite a noticeable dip in earnings on its second Tuesday, Kantara Chapter 1 has crossed the remarkable Rs 650-crore mark worldwide, showcasing its extraordinary appeal across audiences.
As per the latest figures, the film has amassed Rs 451.90 crore net (Rs 542 crore gross) in India alone. The production house, Hombale Films, announced that the movie earned a staggering Rs 146 crore gross in its second weekend, pushing the worldwide collection to an impressive Rs 655 crore within just 11 days of release. The overseas market, particularly North America, has also responded robustly, with Kantara Chapter 1 grossing over $11 million, according to reports by Hindustan Times.
Kantara 2 Beats Baahubali: The Beginning and Sultan on All-Time Indian Box Office List
With these earnings, the film has climbed to approximately the 17th spot on the all-time Indian box office list, surpassing other major hits like Salman Khan's Sultan (Rs 628 crore) and the Baahubali franchise's Baahubali: The Beginning (Rs 650 crore). The film continues to hold the second position after Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which currently remains the highest-grossing film of 2025, having earned a massive ₹600 crore in India alone.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is a historical period drama that immortalizes the life of Sambhaji Maharaj and features Akshaye Khanna as the antagonist. Meanwhile, Kantara Chapter 1 has carved its own legacy by surpassing several major blockbusters within India, including Rajinikanth's Jailer (Rs 348.55 crore), Baahubali: The Beginning (Rs 420 crore), Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (Rs 406 crore) and Saiyaara (Rs 329 crore).
Despite its monumental success, Kantara Chapter 1 still trails behind Chhaava in terms of lifetime collections. However, the film's consistent box office performance and widespread acclaim underscore its status as a landmark achievement in Kannada cinema and Indian film history.
