By the end of the first day, that figure rose to an impressive 1.28 million, placing Kantara: Chapter 1 at the top of BookMyShow's all-time opening day charts.

However, BookMyShow's numbers only tell part of the story. When factoring in competing ticketing platforms and direct bookings at theatres across India, the estimated total ticket sales on Day 1 surpass the 2 million mark, a remarkable achievement for a film that originates from the Kannada film industry.
Kantara 2 Shows Performance In Karnataka
The overwhelming demand for Kantara: Chapter 1 has been matched by a massive nationwide rollout. In Karnataka as Cinema Express reported, the film is dominating screens, with Bengaluru alone hosting over 1,000 shows daily. Other major cities like Mysuru, Mangaluru, and Hubballi are also running at near-full capacity, reflecting the film's strong regional pull.

The excitement, however, is not limited to the home state. The film's reach has extended far beyond Karnataka, turning into a true pan-India release. Other cities such as Ahmedabad, Pune and Surat have also allocated a significant number of shows in response to growing audience demand as per Cinema Express.
