Middle East Geopolitical Crisis: Both Iran and Israel have been in kaboom for the past few days. In the latest development, as per reports, Iran has struck the new stock exchange building that was constructed in Tel Aviv, Israel. Despite the intensity of the strikes with Iran, Tel Aviv stocks are unfazed. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange's TASE-IL and TASE-IL touched new 52-week highs on June 19. Did you know Israeli exchanges have become a multi-bagger since the gut-wrenching day, October 7?
Israel Stock Exchange Attacked:
As per reports, a barrage of 25 Iranian missiles struck Israel on Thursday, causing serious damage to various sites in the country.
According to the Quds Network tweet, the extensive damage caused by Iranian missile strikes hit the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Apart from this, an Iranian missile also hit Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva in the south of Israel; however, no casualties have been reported as of now.
After the latest attacks, especially on the hospital, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran." He also confirmed controlling the skies of Iran. The latest feud with Iran is called an 'Am Klavya' operation by Israel on the Islamic regime's nuclear and military sites.

What's mind-boggling is that Israeli exchanges have been on a winning streak since October 7, 2023, when Hamas carried out the worst terrorist attack on Israeli soil since the Holocaust, killing over 1,300 innocent citizens. Since October 7th, Israel has been at war with Hamas on Gaza soil, while exchanging heavy strikes with Iran and its proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hamas is also a proxy of Iran.
Before October 7, the TASE-IL and TA35 exchanges were at 2,164 and 1,830.65 on October 5th. While after October 7th, TASE-IL and TA35 exchanges plunged by 8% and 6.5% to 1,990 and 1,712.16 on October 8, 2023.
Since then, the two exchanges have picked up momentum significantly, with TASE-IL outperforming TA35.
From October 8, 2023, to June 19, 2025 record high levels, TASE-IL skyrocketed by at least 218.84%, while TA35 climbed 64.9%.
So far 2025 has been bullish as well. TASE-IL soared by 32% in the past 3 months and is up 47.6% year-to-date. In 1 year, TASE-IL surged by 114.30%.
Meanwhile, TA35 advanced by 12.4% in the past 3 months and recorded 17.6% gains year-to-date. In the past 1 year, the index rallied by over 40.5%.

There is no real-time data available on the Iranian stock market's performance; however, as per data available, its main stock exchange TEDPIX fell by 3.16% to 3,035,000 on June 9, 2025, a few days before Israel's all-out attack on Iran's nuclear sites on June 13.
TEPIX and TEDPIX are the main stock exchanges of Tehran, which have been in effect since 1967. Notably, the Tehran Stock Exchange is in the capital of Iran and is a founding member of the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges.
Also, Trading Economics data revealed that TEDPIX over the past month, the index has declined 2.35%, though it remains 46.63% higher than a year ago, according to trading on a contract for difference (CFD) that tracks this benchmark index from Iran.
Why are Iran and Israel in conflict?
Before the 1990s, Israel had warm ties with Iran when it was ruled by the Pahlavi dynasty. However, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's reign was overthrown after the Iranian Revolution in 1979, which led to the formation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Islamic regime under Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini has shown hostility towards Israel since then. The current leader of the Islamic regime is Ali Hosseini Khamenei, since 1989.
Since then, as per Wikipedia, Iranian Islamists have long championed the Palestinian people, whom they perceive as oppressed. Scholars believe that by supporting the Palestinians, Iran seeks greater acceptance among Sunnis and Arabs, both of whom dominate the Middle East. At times, Iran has supported the one-state and the two-state solution as a response to the plight of Palestinians, while the country has also used more inflammatory language to predict Israel's demise. Israel sees Iran as an existential threat. Israel has accused Iran of harbouring genocidal intentions, while Iran has accused Israel of conducting genocide in Gaza. Consequently, Israel has sought sanctions and military action against Iran to stop it from acquiring nuclear weapons.
