The much-awaited Apple iPhone 17 series is likely to be launched during the company's 'Awe Dropping' event on September 9. Apart from the new addition to the iPhones, Apple is expected to release for the first time ever its Watch series and AirPods Pro 3.

The live stream of Apple's 'Awe Dropping' event will be hosted on September 9, on its official website and Youtube channel. The live broadcast will also be available on the Apple TV app for iOS subscribers.
This event is accessible on all devices and is not limited to just iPhones. Meaning, you can watch the live stream on Android phones, Smart TVs, Youtube app and computers.

TrendForce estimates that total shipments of the iPhone 17 series will rise by 3.5% compared with the iPhone 16 lineup in 2024, with the Pro series remaining the main sales driver. However, sluggish global economic conditions and the potential for higher prices on premium models may temper overall demand.
Meanwhile, a JP Morgan report recently stated that the iPhone 17 Pro could be $100 more expensive than its predecessor. However, the PRO MAX will have higher storage of 256GB, double the amount of the iPhone 16 Pro which starts at 128GB. So in comparison, it's actually the same price as the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro.
As per the report, the standard iPhone 17 is likely to be priced at $799 just like its predecessor, meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air could either be the same $899 price like the iPhone 16 Plus, or higher by $50 to $949. Notably, the GSM report is not expecting any hike in the iPhone 17 Pro Max and will still start at $1,199 with 256GB of storage.

Apple iPhone 17 + iPhone 17 Air + iPhone 17 Pro + iPhone 17 Pro Max Upgrade:
A survey conducted by SellCell revealed that 68.3% users believe that Apple could plan to upgrade in iPhone 17 series. Nearly seven in ten iPhone owners (68.3 percent) say they will upgrade to iPhone 17, up from 61.9 percent for iPhone 16. The Pro/Pro Max remain the most popular choice, accounting for 38.1 percent of intended upgrades, while the new ultra-thin Air appeals to 13.5 percent.

The standard iPhone 17 is expected to be in the size of 6.3 inches, while offering a smoother 120Hz ProMotion display with always-on functionality, coupled with a 24MP selfie camera. This phone could be launched in steel grey, green, and purple among six colours. iPhone 17 Air is expected to features that could easily be compared to Apple's MacBook Air or iPad Air, while iPhone 17 Pro could have features similar to MacBook Pro or iPad Pro.
According to 9to5Mac report, the latest leaks indicate Apple's 17 Pro models will offer significantly better battery life than their predecessors. The rumoured capacity for eSIM models are ---- 4252mAh (18.6% higher than iPhone 16 Pro) for iPhone 17 Pro; and 5088mAh (8.6% higher than iPhone 16 Pro Max) for iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Apple Analyst Mark Gurman writes at Bloomberg, "I think Apple is going to tout this year's iPhone camera changes as some of the biggest in the device's history. After all, the company is completely redesigning the camera area on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro - something it wouldn't do just for aesthetic reasons. As I reported in my preview, I expect there to be a new variable aperture system, simultaneous video recording on the front and rear cameras, and hugely improved video recording. So if you've been holding out for an iPhone upgrade and waiting for major camera enhancements, this could be the year for you."
Moreover, Gurman wrote through his X handler, "I expect the new heat management system/vapor chamber on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max to be a key point tomorrow. That, of course, in addition to the external design changes, new orange and blue colors, and major camera upgrades (48MP across lenses, improved optical zoom)."
For iPhone 17 Air, Gurman said, "One other issue with the iPhone 17 Air is that eSIM only will make it hard to sell in mainland China. I wouldn't be surprised if the release is limited or staggered there until Apple and the carriers figure that out."
The Awe Dropping event is expected to be held at Steve Jobs Theatre in Apple Park, Cupertino, California.
