Gautam Adani Exits Top Role at Adani Ports: Check Net Worth & Adani Ports Q1 Profit Update
Gautam Adani has stepped down as the Executive Chairman of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), the country's largest private port operator. The announcement was made after the company's board meeting on Tuesday, August 5. Effective immediately, he has been re-designated as Non-Executive Chairman and will no longer be counted as Key Managerial Personnel as per the company update.

Adani Ports Q1 FY26 Results
Alongside the leadership announcement, Adani Ports also declared its financial results for the first quarter of FY26. Adani Ports posted a 6.5% year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs. 3,314.6 crore for the April-June quarter, while revenue jumped 21% to Rs. 9,126 crore compared to the same period last year. The bottom-line growth was supported by a strong uptick in overall income, which surged to Rs. 9,422 crore compared to Rs. 8,054 crore in Q1 FY25.The company's EBITDA grew by 13% year-on-year, reflecting steady operational performance, though EBITDA margins slipped to 60.2%, down from 64.1% in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Adani Ports is a big player in India's maritime sector, with operations covering over a dozen ports and terminals, including flagship assets in Mundra, Dhamra, Krishnapatnam, and Kattupalli.

Adani Enterprises is the group's flagship, which operates in mining, airports, data centres, and infrastructure and posted Rs. 94,199 crore in revenue in FY25.
Another major vertical of the Adani Group is Adani Ports & SEZ, which is India's top private port operator, generated a revenue of Rs. 36,504 crore and a strong EBITDA of Rs. 20,471 crore in FY25.
Adani Green Energy also reported a strong year, with Rs. 9,495 crore in revenue, with a 23% year-on-year growth by continuous capacity additions in the renewable energy segment. Meanwhile, Adani Energy Solutions clocked Rs. 25,422 crore in revenue, up 35% YoY.
In the consumer goods space, Adani Wilmar, the Group's FMCG arm, delivered healthy performance with Rs. 63,672 crore in revenue for FY25, up 24%. Adani Cement achieved combined revenues estimated at over Rs. 34,000 crore, benefiting from post-acquisition synergies and capacity expansions.
Adani Total Gas, focusing on city and industrial gas networks, recorded Rs. 5,203 crore in revenue. In recent years, the group also has expanded into data centres, green hydrogen, airports, and digital infrastructure.
