Flipkart Cancels Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro Orders During Big Billion Days Sale? Buyers Call It a Scam!

Flipkart's much-hyped Big Billion Days 2025 sale is making headlines for one more reason. What began as an exciting opportunity for consumers to grab deep discounts on the newly launched iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models has quickly spiraled into controversy. Numerous customers have taken to social media to express frustration and disappointment after their fully-paid iPhone orders were abruptly cancelled by the e-commerce giant without any clear explanation.

iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro Orders Cancelled in Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale 2025?

The sale, which opened on September 22 for Flipkart Black and Plus members and went live for the general public on September 23, offered highly attractive deals on the latest iPhones. Flipkart promoted the iPhone 16 (128GB) for just Rs 51,999, while the iPhone 16 Pro (128GB) was listed at Rs 69,999 sparking a frenzy among Apple enthusiasts looking to upgrade.

Many customers were able to successfully place their orders during the early access period, and even completed full payment. However, within a few hours, buyers began receiving notifications that their orders had been cancelled by Flipkart. No specific reasons were given for the cancellations, leaving customers confused and furious.

Buyers Allege Flipkart Misled Them, Call Big Billions Day a "Scam"

Social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter), were quickly flooded with complaints. Numerous users accused Flipkart of intentionally misleading customers to drive web traffic and create hype around the sale.

One user shared, "I placed three fully paid orders on Flipkart, and all were cancelled within four hours. How is this not a scam?" Another disgruntled buyer tweeted directly at Flipkart Support: "@Flipkart @flipkartsupport You confirmed my orders for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro during the BBD sale, and today I woke up to see them cancelled. This is absolutely unfair. What's going on?"

The majority of these complaints appear to come from users who placed their orders during the midnight window of September 23, when the demand for discounted iPhones was at its peak.

Mixed Customer Experiences Add to Confusion

Interestingly, not all buyers faced cancellations. Some Flipkart Black and Plus members have reported that their iPhone orders were successfully processed and even marked as shipped, although they have not yet received the deliveries. This inconsistency in order fulfilment has only added to the confusion and growing scepticism among shoppers.

As the backlash intensifies, many are questioning whether Flipkart's sale strategy was transparent or simply a marketing ploy to generate massive engagement without the intent to fulfill high-demand orders.

No Official Response Yet from Flipkart

At the time of writing, Flipkart has yet to issue an official statement addressing the cancellations or clarifying what went wrong. Customers are demanding accountability and reassurances from the platform, particularly regarding the integrity of future flash sales.

As one of India's largest e-commerce players, Flipkart now faces increasing pressure to respond to the controversy and restore consumer trust.
